Mom jeans ARE BACK! Where to look for a pair and how to style them…
I read a ton of fashion blogs and they have all been saying the same thing: flare jeans & high-waisted mom jeans are all the rage right now. Skinny jeans are on their way out…and don’t get me wrong I love a good pair of skinny jeans. However, I’m not opposed to hopping on board with the “mom jean” trend so the first place I looked was the thrift store (Mid South Outlet–Memphis).
Over the course of the past two weeks I have bought four pairs of pants at different thrift stores, which is RIDICULOUS. However, they were all $2.99 so I couldn’t pass them up! It doesn’t matter what thrift store you go to they will definitely have a pair of jeans you can rock this fall.
When I first tried them on they seem like a lot of material, but all you have to do is cuff them a few times and throw a belt on. Chunky belts are in and I’m obsessed with belting everything. The bigger the better.
Thrift stores are an awesome place to find some really great belts like the one I am wearing in these pictures. (My top, belt, and jeans here have all been thrifted)
When pairing tops with mom jeans, keep them super simple. A plain white tee or white button down is perfect! Or any neutral colored top like the tan one I am wearing. I prefer a shorter top so it is easy to do a front tuck. I always complete my look with a belt, which I also try to coordinate the color with my shoes. (I don’t know if that’s really a rule, but it keeps it easy for me)
So if you’re near a thrift store this weekend or interested in visiting one, you can’t go wrong with a good pair of high-waisted jeans! Xx
